Biography:
A USL First Division veteran, McManus joins the Timbers in 2009 for his sixth professional season.

2008: Played in 28 of 30 matches for the Atlanta Silverbacks and scored three goals. His goal in Week 5 against the Minnesota Thunder was named the USL First Division Goal of the Week. He recorded a career-high 2,466 minutes played during the season.

2007: Scored a career-high four goals and added an assist to lead the Atlanta Silverbacks to the USL First Division championship match against the Seattle Sounders. He played in 26 matches for Atlanta and was named to the USL First Division Team of the Week in Weeks 20 and 21. 

2006: Appeared in 26 matches and tallied two assists for the Silverbacks in his second season with the club. He logged 2,248 minutes on the pitch over the course of the season.

2005: Joined the Atlanta Silverbacks for his second professional season. He played in 1,148 minutes over 24 matches. Following the season, he was loaned to FC Dallas of Major League Soccer and appeared in two MLS Reserve Division matches.

2004: Started his professional career with the Virginia Beach Mariners. He played in 898 minutes during his first pro season and totaled one goal and two assists over 24 matches. Prior to joining Virginia Beach, he was selected in the sixth round by Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft and appeared in one preseason match with the Fire.

College: Played his collegiate career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He was a three-time All-Conference USA all-league selection as a sophomore, junior and senior. Following his senior season in 2003, McManus a NSCAA All-American, Soccer Times All-American, selected to the NSCAA All-South first team and voted the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year. During his time at UAB, he helped the club reach the NCAA tournament three times and make two Sweet 16 and one Elite 8 finishes.
