Lopez returns for a second season with the Timbers, but enters his first full season with the club in 2010.

 

2009: Scored as a guest player in the Timbers’ exhibition against English Premier League club Burnley FC July 25 at PGE Park ... Notched the equalizing strike in a 2-2 draw ... Signed with Portland Aug. 19 ... Played in four regular season matches down the stretch ... Came on as a sub in the second leg of the Timbers’ semifinal series against Vancouver, playing nine minutes ... Prior to joining the Timbers, played for the Ventura County Fusion of the Premier Development League ... Aided in the club’s run to the 2009 PDL championship.

 

CAREER: Spent 18 months in the youth academy of Mexican power Chivas de Guadalajara before signing with Chivas USA of Major League Soccer in 2005 at the age of 18 ... Played in eight league contests over three seasons with the first team (2005-07) and logged an assist ... Appeared in a dozen games for Ventura County in 2008 before signing with Mexican club Zapotlanejo in advance of the 2008-09 campaign ... Then trained with Queretaro of Mexico’s Primera Division for the 2009 Clausura season.
